Our History
The Place of Hope Recovery & Restoration
The late Clifford W. Matthews I and Kimberly M. Matthews were pastoring for years, under the leadership of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World before starting a new church. God led them to start Place of Hope Recovery & Restoration in 2013. They started out with a small congregation of people, that soon flourished with the help of the Lord. After the church became affiliated with the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc., the ministry was placed under the leadership of Jurisdictional Two Bishop Lawrence Brown Sr and First Lady Dorothy M. Brown. Services were held at 1319 Boland Place, Richmond Heights, MO 63117. Place of Hope Recovery & Restoration moved to Katy, Texas, and the Lord continued to bless the congregation of local members and those located in St. Louis MO, both numerically and spiritually, as the ministry continued adapting to the new location. COVID 19 shocked the nation, yet the Lord continue to bless the ministry through online services and in person services, in which Pastor Kimberly Matthews continues to carry the vision of her beloved Husband, Pastor Clifford W. Matthews I.
The Place of Hope Recovery & Restoration continues to serve the community and has continued to be a healing station for many.
Helping each other can make our community better
Every little bit helps. We are committed to making a difference with the little. Just like when Jesus fed the 5,000 with 2 little fishes and 5 loaves of bread. He can do it again with our gifts.
